Been awhile, but...MEME TIME!

*blows thick layer of dust off*

Um, hi, f-list! It's been a loooong while, but I'm back and I have an interesting meme. I was bored and stumbled upon fandom_memes over on lj. While browsing I found this meme and thought it looked like it'd be fun. So, guess away, mes amis, guess away! ;)

1. Think of up to 20 'ships you support
2. List them using descriptions of the characters involved rather than their names
3. Have your f-list guess as many of the 'ships as they can

This is another one of those times when I should be asleep, but aren't.

Saw this in [info]alleyne's journal and thought it could be fun...

The Mentalist

I'm watching episode 9 of the second season of The Mentalist. Is anybody else a fan? Just curious, because I've noticed about a dozen or so times where Simon Baker's (Jane) accent slips from his fake American (which is, admittedly, usually very good) to his native Australian in this episode alone. I have also noticed that Owain Yeoman (Rigsby) seems to slip into his native accent (Welsh) more in the same episodes that Simon Baker slips into his native accent. And it's been happening more during the second season than it did in the first. Is it lazy acting? Or do the directors/producers/whatevers think that slipping in the accents makes the characters more mysterious? Because I get a twitch every time their accents slip. Not that they aren't lovely accents (Baker's especially, though, overall, his voice is just incredibly pleasant). I just think it shows more talent to fake an accent authentically than to only halfheartedly try.

However, I have heard worse accents before. Philip Glenister plays an American in the canceled ITV drama Demons and has, by far, the worst fake accent I've ever heard.

Oooo. Question, f-list, what's the worst fake accent you've heard?

FWD: The Funny...

Got this in an e-mail from my mother (and there was no way I could not share this):

Thought for the day

For decades pundits have been saying that the New Orleans Saints were so bad at playing football that hell would freeze over before the Saints would ever win The Super Bowl.

On Sunday, February 7, 2010 The Saints won the Super Bowl.

On that same Sunday Washington D.C. was paralyzed under several feet of snow and the Government was shut down.

This, then, firmly establishes the exact geographical position of hell.

Drinking Game(s)

skinsfans over on lj has a post for suggestions for a SkinsFans Offical Drinking Game. This, of course, got me wondering what other fandomy drinking games are out there. So, f-list, how about some links?

Yay! I get to use my buzzed!Kyle icon. :)

What was the #1 song the day you were born? Google the date and #1 song and then post your #1 song on your LJ - preferably with a Youtube vid if you can find one.

My Fine is $175.10

Just read the "offenses" and if you've done it, you owe that fine. Keep going until you've read each "offense" and added up your total fine.

When you are done post this as "My fine is $........"

You don't have to confess your answers, just the amount of your fine.

(I need a better angry icon)

People do not teach their children boundaries these days. For example, by the time I seven or eight I knew not to go crawl up in the bushes in front my neighbor's house, peek into the window, and make scratching noises and hiss at the cat in the window. The little shits in my neighborhood, however, can't seem to grasp the concept that doing that is wrong. I'd go out there and give the little bastards a piece of my mind if I wasn't sick and in my pj's.

I guess I shouldn't have expected manners from the brats considering how, a year or so ago, they thought it would be fun to randomly open the front door and let the cats outside. It was unlocked because it was daylight and my dad and I were both home. That, of course, does not happen anymore; the front door is locked and/or barred at all times now. As it should be, honestly.

Maybe it's because the kids on the cul-de-sac I live in are mostly boys. (There are a few girls and I haven't had any problems with them.) I don't know. I do know that if it happens again, I'm going to scare the crap out of 'em. And if their parents say anything to me, well, I'll just tell them they should teach their kids not to peep into other people's windows.

Swine Flu...

Mom has H1N1. I'm worried about her, which translates to hovering. I hope I'm being helpful.

Also, watching General Hospital. Olivia/Johnny is the worst thing ever on daytime TV. (Even though it's 9pm...SOAPNet shows daytime soaps at night for those of us missed them during the day. Mom and I were watching Dark Shadows.) Then again Nikolas/Elizabeth is pretty damn awful, as well.

Weddings and Whatnot

My best friend (Jessie) is getting married on Sunday! I'm so excited for her, I think I just might burst! XD They're just doing a Justice of the Peace thing right now and big wedding later after David (her fiancé) gets done with basic training and all that (he's going into the Air Force, I think).

In other, less joyous news, Faylinn had the last of her heartworm shots today. She still has to stay in her cage and have restricted activity for about another month, so we're not out of the woods just yet (hence the "less joyous" part).
