Shippy Meme!

Saw this in [info]tabakat's journal; thought it looked fun.

a. Name your 10 absolutely favourite fandom ships (try to pick different fandoms).
b. Ask people to see what trends and similarities they notice about your ships.

The Top Ten:
1. Harry/Ginny (Harry Potter)
2. Ichigo/Orihime (Bleach)
3. Doctor/Rose (mostly Ten/Rose, but I also like TenII/Rose, Eleven/Rose, Nine/Rose, Eight/Rose, Five/Rose, Four/Rose, and before-he-was-old-looking!One/Rose) (Doctor Who)
4. Sid/Cassie (Skins)
5. Ron/Hermione (Harry Potter)
6. Renji/Rukia (Bleach)
7. Chris/Jal (Skins)
8. Naomi/Emily (Skins)
9. Tony/Michelle (Skins)
10. Neville/Luna (Harry Potter)

Because I have more than only ten favorites... )

Oh. My. God.

Spoilery Squeeage (and other stuff) )

Feb. 8th, 2008

Finally got myself caught up with Torchwood. Well, maybe more than caught up as I've seen episode no. 4 "Meat", and, according to the schedule on BBC America, it hasn't aired yet in the US. So, I guess anything I have to say is going to be fairly spoilery, and thus, will be behind a cut. Spoilery )

And now I'm off to watch the fansubbed version of Bleach 159.

Oh, I almost forgot. There's a Torchwood meme at [info]friend_me. So, go, make new Torchwood friends.

Bleach: Signs Orihime Drabble

Fandom: Bleach
Title: Signs
Characters/Pairings: Orihime, with allusions to possible IchiHime and IchiRuki.
Rating: PG
Word Count: 434 (according to Word)
Genre: Romance/Introspection (can that really be considered a genre?)
Warnings: Spoilers for chapter 286 of the manga and a reference to the Bleach movie, Memories of Nobody
Summary: Orihime would’ve liked to think Kurosaki-kun coming all the way to Hueco Mundo just to rescue her was a sign of his undying love for her.
Notes: It's a little stream-of-consciousness, but not confusingly so. Also, this is completely unbeta'd; feel free to point out any errors. Keep in mind that this my first Bleach piece.

...undying love... )

More IchiHime recs

I have some more Ichigo/Orihime recs for you guys.

On the 7th Day by Joy Blue. (one-shot)
Summary: Ichigo would rather face hollows than Hikoboshi Yamada, his unexpected rival for Orihime’s heart.
It's sweet andfluffy, but that's what makes it great. And the characterization is spot on.
Sequel: The Gift (one-shot)

20 Souls by Flash-Indie (one-shot)
Summary: Twenty things you probably don't know about Kurosaki Ichigo and Inoue Orihime. For the 20souls challenge over at livejournal.
Heart-breaking and heart-warming at the same time. There's really nothing else to say about it.
Flash-Indie has written several other IchiHime fics (Better Be Home Soon, That Dreary Day in Late February and its sequel Lotus, Frist Time, and Fevers and Fingertips).

That's all for now. Here's a link to the original Ichigo/Orihime rec list.

Random About Fandom: Revised Edition!

Because the first list wasn't quite complete enough (and I noticed a few more annoying/implausible things), I bring you: Random About Fandom: The Revised Edition! )

I'm still freaking sick. Damn sinus infection that won't go away. It's seriously frustrating because there are things that I need to be doing, but can't because every time I try to do just about anything, I start coughing and having an asthma attack. It sucks. Stupid asthma. Stupid sinus infection. Grrr...

On a wholly unrelated note, I've recently become obsessed with Bleach. So obsessed that I now have an OTP in that fandom. (Ichigo/Orihime, if you're wondering.) While searching for quality fic, I've discovered that there isn't a lot in the "IchiHime" corner of Bleach fandom. I'm not saying there's not any quality fic; I'm just saying there's not a lot, mostly due to the fact that there's not a lot of fic there period. That is, compared to HP or BtVS/AtS fandoms, which are overflowing with just about every pairing imaginable (and some you really don't want to imagine and make you wonder just what the hell is wrong with the people who do imagine them *cough*Filch/Mrs. Norris*cough*). But, if I had to rec any, I'd rec:

Five Times by StarFire and Sakura (one-shot)
Summary:She did indeed fall in love with him five times.
It makes the hopeless romantic in me sigh. But it won't make sense if you haven't read chapter 237 ("Good Bye Halcyon Days").

Just about anything by Deathberry15. However, my favorite has to be the Sick Days, Seven Nights series.
Summary: In the event of Orihime getting sick, who'd take care of her?
Sequels: Rumors, Coming Undone, and Smile (all complete)

Bleach Field Trip by noi-chi (one-shot)
Summary: An ordinary biology field trip with a romantic twist on the relationship between two of my favorite characters, especially with the interference of a few close friends.
I like this one for it's levity. Plus, Plotting!Rukia and Backtalking!Hollow are always fun.

Not Long Ago by JuuJuuLuff (one-shot)
Summary: Ichigo has finally found Orihime. Now they can leave Los Noches, and go home. But what if Orihime doesn't want to leave? Or rather, She can't? What will Ichigo do?
This is the one that really screams angst. It does have a sequel (Not Long Ago Reprise, wherein Ichigo resolves to bring Orihime back no matter what), but it hasn't been updated since 5/22/07.

Five Years by Lilith Rei (complete)
Summary: Orihime finds herself alone in the realm of darkness, she slowly begins to come to grips with her situation. After five years Ichigo returns to the front to try and retrieve her, unexpected conflicts stands in his way.
This one's pretty much an epic and I love it for that reason alone. Other ships are one-sided Grimmjow/Orihime (which, while I don't ship, is done so heart-wrenchingly well), Renji/Rukia, Toushirou/Momo, Uryuu/Nemu and Gin/Rangiku.
Sequel: Shadows on the Wall (WIP)

Also, if you've never read (manga) or watched (anime) Bleach and would like to, you can catch the anime series on AdultSwim on Cartoon Network (on Saturdays, I believe) and the manga in a bookstore near you (licensed by TokyoPop, I think). However, if you're like me and too impatient for official releases of episodes and chapters, Bleach Exile has downloads of both the manga and the anime, and a place where you can read the manga without having to download it (Bleach Manga Reader).

9/12/07: More IchiHime recs this way.
